Current Tattoo Trends for Women

Getting a tattoo is no longer a passion only for the rich and wealthy. The trend is gripping middle class people at an amazing pace. With the advancement in technology the cost for getting a tattoo done has reduced considerably. The process is less cumbersome and a lot safer as compared to a few years ago. The number of people following the trend is on the rise, women making the major portion of it.
A tattoo is permanent marking done onto the dermis layer of skin by inserting indelible ink to change the pigment color. The technique was started long back in the seventeenth century but it is only recent that women took it up as a fashion trend. Women fancy getting a tattoo done at shoulder, back, belly, legs and show it off as fashion styling.
One of the sought after tattoo trend for women is words written in different calligraphic styles. The words can be name of a loved ones, it might bear some religious meaning, or might just act as a status symbol. Another trend is the carefully and gracefully designed image that resembles feminism. This might be a beautifully made butterfly or a bird or might even be shapes like a heart. A great eye for detailing is required for this.
Another recent trend suggests the use of more and more vibrant and bright colors - a dramatic shift from traditional dark colors usually black used by men in the past.
One important and exciting thing to know here is that biggest issue that results in not getting a tattoo done is not finding the right design. Another important but smaller issues include unavailability of a good tattoo artist or lack of money. According to a study, women in particular are more conscious to health issues that can be caused while tattooing. Thus they ensure they find the correct tattoo artist who keeps the needle and equipment clean and germ free. This many times also lead to women not getting a tattoo done at all or a long travel to find the correct tattoo artist.
Also, women also keep in mind that the design which is in Fashion might not be that popular in near future. It might get replaced by a new design and thus hesitate in selecting that design of a design based on that trend. Instead they opt for a trend that is sure to last for quite some time.
All said and done, there is a huge scope for growth in tattoo business especially catering to women's category. More new creative designs to attract more female customers are the need of the hour. Surely an important fashion item for future.

Life of Lady Gaga

The life of Lady Gaga was simple before she rose to fame. She was born on March 28, 1986 to Cynthia and Joseph Germanotta. Her birth name was Stefania Gabrielle Germanotta. Today she is popularly known as Lady Gaga, her stage name which she kept after being inspired by the Queen song "Radio Ga Ga". She is a pop singer and songwriter of America and was born in Yonkers, New York.
She was fond of music from her very childhood. At the tender age of 4, she was an expert in playing the piano. When she was 13 years old, she wrote her first piano ballad and did her first performance in a night club of New York when she was 14 years of age. She got the opportunity to get admitted to New York University's Tisch School of Arts at an early age of 17 which was a good first achievement for her. There she continued to work on music and songwriting. In order to get creative and original inspiration, Lady Gaga later dropped out from school. After that she took up 3 jobs, which also included a stint as a gogo dancer in order to meet her financial needs. Def Jam Records signed this lady in the year 2005 but soon dropped her after a few months. This forced her to perform in different clubs on New York City's Lower East Side on her own. There she met different rock bands and collaborated with them to start on experiments amid fashion.
When she was 20 years old in 2007, Lady Gaga began working as a songwriter for Interscope Records. She wrote songs for other musical groups, for example The Pussycat Dolls, New Kids on the Block and for Britney Spears. She began to work at the local Lower East Side club scene. There she performed "Beautiful Dirty Rich" which was an instant hit. Lady Gaga is also quite popular for putting on unique outfits on stage.
She was performing a show of herself called "Lady Gaga and the Starlight Revue," when the famed singer Akon discovered her and immediately signed her for his label Kon Live under the Interscope umbrella after being impressed by her performance. Lady Gaga worked on her debut album named The Fame for two years in 2007 as well as 2008 during which she wrote and recorded the songs of the album. The album hit the stands throughout America. Lady Gaga rose to international fame with her own creative team called "Haus of Gaga". "Just Dance" was her debut single which was released in the year 2008. The song became so popular that it was nominated in the Best Dance Recording category of 2008's Grammy awards. Unfortunately the song could not win the award and it lost to "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" by Daft Punk. But Lady Gaga topped the pop charts in early 2009. Her second single "Poker Face" earned her more accolades and she topped the list in every country. Akon's RedOne produced both these songs. Her songs are available in mp3 format and can be downloaded from various sites from the internet. Lady Gaga has collaborated with the reformed New Kids on the Block on the song 'Big Girl Now' and is due to embark upon a tour with it. This is the life of Lady Gaga which is an inspirational for people from all walks of life.

Top 10 Drinks for Summer

The warmer the weather, the more I want to drink. Does that signal that I have a problem? Maybe. But I, like so many of you, associate this balmy weather with lying out in the sun and sipping fruity concoctions. So, what are the best drinks to enjoy while beating the heat?

1.Margarita

Always first on my list is the Margarita. This drink says, “I’m whimsical, have a great sense of adventure, and don’t mind trying new things.” You can’t go wrong with it. Cool, refreshing, slushy-like, and it comes in a wide variety of flavors. Just thinking of this drink makes me want to kick off my shoes and dig my toes into the sand. 9 More after the break...

2. Sangria

What is a lazy day in the sun without a glass of Sangria. Best when sipped from a wine glass while protecting yourself from the sun via a large brimmed straw hat. It’s fizzy and fruity and pretty to look at with it burgundy coloring, typically created from red wine, fruit juices, soda water, fruit and sometimes brandy. Sangria's best served chilled, and goes well with just about anything!

10 Amazing Things You Didn't Know About China

01. China executes three times as many people as the rest of the world

China carries out almost three times as many executions as the rest of the world put together, according to the most conservative estimate by Amnesty International. In 2008, the group confirmed 1,718 executions through news reports and public documents, but many others are not reported. Some analysts say the figure may be above 6,000. The exact number is a state secret. Many executions are done on the road using vehicles called the death vans designed by Jinguan Motors. The makers of these vans say the vehicles and injections are a civilized alternative to the firing squad, ending the life of the condemned more quickly, clinically and safely. According to them, the switch from gunshots to injections is a sign thatChina "promotes" human rights now.

02. There are already more Christians in China than Italy, and it's on track to become the largest center of Christianity in the world

Due to the extremely rapid expansion of Christianity in China, there are now an estimated 54 million Christians in the country, comprised of about 40 million Protestants and 14 million Catholics. Meanwhile, Italy has just 60 million people in total, of which 79% are Christian these days, which means Italy has 47.4 million Christians, that's 12% less thanChina. 03. Over 4000 babies in China were named "Olympic Games" while the country was getting ready for Beijing 2008

The Beijing Olympics was more than just a point of pride for China — it was such an important part of the national consciousness that over 4,000 children have been named for the event. Most of the 4,104 people with the name "Aoyun," meaningOlympics , were born around the year 2000, as Beijing was bidding to host the 2008 Summer Games. The vast majority of people named Aoyun are male. Names related to theOlympics don't just stop with "Olympics ." More than 4,000 Chinese share their names with the Beijing Games mascots, the "Five Friendlies." Chinese have increasingly turned to unique names as a way to express a child's individuality.

In a country with a population of 1.3 billion, 87 percent share the same family names. (Link 1 | Link 2)

So, you have your iPhone. You have all your funky apps, from iBacon to Bump, from AP's news app to Skype.

How about something useful? Something that helps you use your iPhone to its greatest potential?

Here's a look at some apps that will let you make the most out of your iPhone whether it's your battery life, e-mail, texting or more.
Battery
There are, approximately, 8 gazillion applications that enable you to see how much battery life you have left. It's hard to say which is the best, as they all do pretty much the same thing. Many are free, and most of those have three stars; some are paid, and they range from three to three and a half stars, for the most part, in average ratings. So we chose to go with BatteryMagic, as it has both free and paid (BatteryMagicPro) versions, as the app has hundreds of ratings.
Many of the battery apps have both free and paid versions and most do the same thing.
BatteryMagic will tell you how much time you have left on your battery for:
  • 3D Game Play
  • Game Play
  • Talk Time
  • 3G Internet
  • Wi-Fi Internet
  • Video Playback
  • Audio Playback
  • Standby Time
  • iPod Video Play Time
  • iPod Audio Play Time
It'll also tell you how much time it'll take to full recharge your battery.
The pro version adds the ability to tell if you'll be able to see a full-length movie with the battery life you have, a notification when your battery is fully charged, the ability to switch from 3-D to 2-D to conserve battery life when you don't need 3-D capability, plus skins to customize the battery image with colors, images or patterns (like zebras?).

Coober Pedy - The Underground Town in Australia

The Australian town of Coober Pedy has a population of around 2,000 and is famous for two things. Firstly, the town is known as the opal capital of the world because of the quantity of precious gems that are mined there. Secondly, and the reason for this gallery, Coober Pedy is renowned for it’s underground residences, mostly in refurbished mines.

The severe desert climate made a lot of residents move to live underground, in caves. In summer temperatures on the surface can reach 40-50 degrees Celsius (over 100 degrees Fahrenheit). A cave home usually has three bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and lounge that are excavated out of the rock in the hillsides. Such homes don’t require air-conditioning, because they remain at a constant temperature.

Coober Pedy attracts tourists from all over the world. The mines, underground churches and graveyard are the most interesting attractions here. The trees you can find in this town are iron welded. You can play golf at night only to avoid hot temperatures. The local golf is free of grass that is why players take a small piece of tee-off turf with them.

Coober Pedy is featured in many movies, including Opal Dream, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, Red Planet and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. NASA is planning to train astronauts for a planned mission to Mars here in 2012.

Ten Lies You’ll Hear Before Pursuing Your Dream

Unfortunately, just before you take your first step on the righteous journey to pursue your dreams, people around you, even the ones who deeply care for you, will give you awful advice. It’s not because they have evil intentions. It’s because they don’t understand the big picture—what your dreams, passions, and life goals mean to you. They don’t understand that, to you, the reward is worth the risk.
So they try to protect you by shielding you from the possibility of failure, which, in effect, also shields you from the possibility of making your dreams a reality.
As our friend Steve Jobs says:
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice, heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
Here are ten ill-advised tips (lies) people will likely tell you when you decide to pursue your dreams and the reasons why they are dreadfully mistaken:

1. You can follow your dreams someday, but right now you need to buckle down and be responsible.
Someday? When is ”someday”? “Someday” is not a day at all. It’s a foggy generalization of a time that will likely never come. Today is the only day guaranteed to you. Today is the only day you can begin to make a difference in your life. And pursuing your dreams is what life is all about. So don’t be irresponsible. Don’t wait until “someday.” Make today the first day of the rest of your new life.

2. You’re totally screwed if it doesn’t work out.
Wrong! This is a giant, lame load of BS. You’re not even close to being screwed. In fact, the worst case scenario is that things don’t work out and you have to go back to doing exactly what you are doing right now.

3. It’s safer to stay at your day job.
Sure, I suppose. But you know what’s even safer than that? Going home, locking yourself in your bedroom, and never, ever coming out. And just like that, you will have flushed your entire life and your dreams down the toilet. Remember, safer doesn’t always mean better.

4. That’s impossible!
It’s only impossible if you never do anything about it. The reason certain things seem impossible is simply because nobody has achieved them yet. But this doesn’t mean that with your help these things won’t become possible in the future. If you truly dedicate yourself to an end result, almost anything is possible. You just have to want it bad enough.
