This is the most hair-raising experience you can have on your own two legs! This is a heavy-tourist traffic area in Xian (Mt.Huashan), this link explains more about the area. The hanging wooden planks are a real tourist hike path, which hundreds of daredevils navigate – with no safeguards in sight. Try to step on them in slippery, snowy conditions… or better not.
This is a goal…
You start from here…
Now follow the path…
Be sure to hold on to the railing…
Keep an eye on the person in front of you…
Be very careful when passing someone going in the opposite direction…
Now just up a few steps. (They are on the left side in the picture)…
Gets a little steeper here – so put your toes in the holes…
A few more steps to go…
Finally in sight, the TEAHOUSE (hostel)!
Would you dare hike to this Teahouse? How’d they get that building material up there??? I’d go almost anywhere for a pint – but a cup of tea? Forget it…
And when you’re finally through with all this excitement and drank tea, here is an outhouse for you…but do not make any false moves!
